Massing of the Colors
The largest celebration of its kind in the westen United States, 2011 will be the 29th annual celebration of George Washington's birth sponsored by the Sons of Liberty Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution. This upcoming event will be held in February at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills (for directions, click the link on the sidebar). Specifics will be published here as soon as they become available.
Previous Massings of the Colors have been a great success. Over Sixty-six color guards participate each year, including over ten of our brother SAR Chapters. The highlight of the 26th event was the fly-by of four F-16 fighters, (flight leader Capt. Ryan Sweazey, USAF) which was arranged for by Compatriot/ Lt. Colonel David D. Smith, USAF. We believe this was a “first” for an SAR sponsored event. Many high school and college color guards take part in this celebration. If you would like to be part of this event, contact us for details on how you can participate.
